Surrogacy is a beautiful thing- the act of carrying a baby for someone who can't carry a child on their own. Heather already has two children of her own and was drawn to the idea of surrogacy and helping a couple create a family of their own or expand their already formed family. Heather researched surrogacy and after much research she decided to find the Intended Parents on her own. She created a post in a surrogacy group stating she was seeking the perfect Intended Parents wanting to expand their family. Kim reached out. She was the first to message Heather and Heather knew immediately that Kim and Steve were the perfect match. It was the start of a beautiful journey. Surrogacy is something so giving and selfless and involved that these two families became extremely close. The months of Heather's pregnancy brought many phone calls, visits, and gratefulness. Her pregnancy was right on track and baby boy was expected to be super healthy.
Heather's induction started uneventful and despite her nervousness due to never being induced before- Heather was a champ and birthed a healthy boy epidural free, something that she wanted.
The anticipation of baby M was felt throughout the room. Dad and mom couldn't wait to hold him and tell him how much they loved him. Kim's mother, an RN, was also by their side. She too, was very excited to meet her new grandson.
Once Heather's bag of waters broke her labor progressed pretty quickly. She labored so well. Pretty soon it was time to get checked and for baby M to come.
Heather soon told us all that she thought it was time to push. The doctor came in, got set up, and baby Micah was on his way. The emotion of Kim and Steve was heartwarming, powerful, and so moving. It was the culmination of months and years waiting for this little boy and the moment they'd actually have him was almost here.
Micah was born a little purple/red but quickly recovered pinking up right away. His apgar scores were wonderful. Dad was ready for Micah when he made his entrance and had his shirt off so that he could do immediate skin to skin time. Kim overwhelmed with emotion thanks Heather in this portrait. The bond they have with one another can't be explained.
In this portrait baby Micah was introduced to his brother and sister for the first time. These two families still keep in constant contact with one another. In fact, Heather and her family just flew to see Micah and his family for vacation. Baby Micah is a very loved baby boy.
