Katy & James have a beautiful love story. When they told it to me I couldn't help but smile and think how truly inspirational they are. They met when Katy was just fourteen. James asked for her number and would call her every night and those nightly conversations developed into a deep friendship that ultimately would blossom into love.
Their wedding was very small and intimate and they were surrounded by their closest friends and family. A good family friend did the florals and I absolutely loved all the greens incorporated. The hankie surrounding the bouquet was a family heirloom.
The atmosphere and ambiance of the Old Church is amazing. From the vintage touches to the stained glass windows it's the perfect spot for a wedding. The reception hall area is also beautiful and a great spot to hold a smaller reception or party.
The favors were adorable. Super cute vials of tea that the guests could take home and brew. Being a tea lover myself I loved these. Very unique and a great inexpensive favor idea.
Because they weren't having a very large affair they had appetizer type foods for their reception. Guests were able to eat fruits, veggies, bread and dips, and several other types of finger foods. After the bride finished getting ready and her makeup finished the wedding started. James' sister Evelyn was his "best woman" and Katy's sister Kimber was her maid of honor. Both held special places in the couple's lives and they couldn't have imagined anyone or anybody else standing next to them when they exchanged their vows.
The happy couple's vow were short and sweet and after the ceremony formal portraits commenced with the reception and small gathering following.
The cake was absolutely gorgeous and James' mother did a phenomenal job with it. Katy even gave me a piece when I was leaving and it tasted even better than it looked! Such an amazing talent she has! I wish Katy & James all the happiness in the world. That their life and journey together as husband and wife is even better than all of the previous years that they've spent together. Congratulations you two!
