Mariel & Evan had a beautiful wedding. The venue for the ceremony was gorgeous with the organ pipes and stained glass windows surrounding them. The Cone Chapel is a part of the Willamette University in Salem and can be rented out for weddings. They had several friends and family come witness their wedding vows and while some friends and family finished last minute details on the chapel Mariel and Evan got ready off site.
Once Mariel arrived to the chapel I was wowed by her wedding dress and veil. The gorgeous lace details and the long veil were such exquisite pieces and accented her beautifully. The ceremony started soon after she arrived at the church. Evan didn't see Mariel before the ceremony or before her walk down the aisle. When he did see her coming down the aisle his smile was so sweet. You could see his smile slowly spread further and further across his face the closer she came down the aisle.
After the ceremony the couple did a few formal portraits with their families. We were able to get their whole families in one big portrait. So many people who came to support them and their commitment to one another.
The reception followed and was held at the gorgeous Trinity Ballroom in the Reed Opera House. Salem's Reed Opera House is a beautiful place with so many shops and businesses inside. The Trinity Ballroom is one of my favorites within. It's got such an elegant but urban feel to it with gorgeous chandeliers hanging from the ceilings and the walls original brick.
The cake with silver details and roses on every other tier was a huge hit with guests. I heard more than a few state how wonderful the cake was and how great it tasted.
The first dances followed with Mariel and Evan dancing together and then with Mariel and her father and Evan with his mother. I love the look his mother is giving him while they are dancing. You can see so much joy in her face as she looks at him.
Toasts during dinner and now the guests are ready to party. Glasses up and put on those dancing shoes!
The lights got turned down low and the bride & groom along with all of their guests took it as an opportunity to dance and have a good time.
