Athena and Eric are among the sweetest people I've ever met. Athena's mother originally contacted me for Athena and Eric's wedding because the couple lives in Ohio and is going to school. After meeting with Athena's parents she contacted me and we discussed her wedding in detail, she and Eric, and why they chose the Evergreen Aviation Museum as their wedding venue.
Eric and Athena are both flying enthusiasts- Athena having her pilot's license since she was young and Eric wanting to get his so that he can share that commonality. Their love of flying and planes is what led them to the Evergreen Aviation Museum. They couldn't have imagined their wedding being any more perfect than being surrounded by friends and family along with all of the planes.
Both Eric and Athena live minimally and have adopted the simple way of living as they find they are able to focus more on the important things in life. Eric is finishing up seminary school and will be rejoining the military as a Chaplain. Much thanks to him and his previous service as well as his upcoming service!
Athena got ready with the help of her mom and sister. Her dress was a gorgeous gown that fit Athena's personality perfectly. It was elegant and not overstated. Simple but so beautiful.
Eric had the help of his best friend in getting ready. The two have an amazing friendship; Eric told me that he couldn't have imagined his wedding without his friend by his side.
Their first look was in the middle of the museum amidst the helicopters. We tried finding them a somewhat secluded spot in the museum as the museum was still open during business hours. Ultimately, this spot gave them a private area for their first times seeing one another on their wedding day.
Their wedding was beautiful. They planted a tree to represent the love they share and it's continuous growth. I wish them all the best in their new life with one another and may they have many happy and blessed years to come.
After the ceremony, we took a few minutes so the couple could sign their marriage certificate. You can see the love they share for one another and their playfulness in their interactions.
So many friends and family that came to enjoy their special day.
Both Athena and Eric were so gentle when feeding one another the cake.
Athena and Eric didn't have a dance together but Athena did have one with her father. It was a sweet moment and I'm sure she will treasure these portraits and memories forever.
After dancing these two lovebirds drove off in their Ford pickup truck. Their family and friends decorated it for them before they left and the couple was surprised when they came outside to get into the vehicle. So much fun.
