It was a gorgeous August day in Sherwood for a wedding. I loved getting to know Sarah and Nathaniel and it was an honor photographing their gorgeous wedding. A wedding ceremony outdoors on the lovely patio and then dinner/reception indoors at Bella Via in Sherwood, Oregon.
The venue is very cute with a modern backdrop to their dance floor, chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, a bar upstairs, bride and groom dressing rooms, and a beautiful outdoor patio area should you wish to have your ceremony or reception outdoors.
Sarah had a few pieces of jewelry with her to finish out her attire for the day. It consisted of a blue garter, pearls, classic heels, lucky coins, and her grandmother's ring. The couch in the bridal suite made a great backdrop for her detail shots.
Sarah has beautiful long red hair and she wanted a side fishtail braid to complete her bridal look.
The bride to be and bridesmaids put their finishing touches on before getting into their wedding attire. Sarah opted to do her own makeup for her wedding day; I think she did a beautiful job and it accented her beautiful dress so well.
As soon as the makeup was on it was time to get into her dress. Sarah's dress was very special to her in that it was her mother's wedding gown. They had it altered slightly in the front, but for the most part it was the same dress. It held a lot of sentimental feelings for both Sarah and her mother. You could see clearly how much so as Sarah's mom helped Sarah get ready. There were several emotional moments.
After Sarah was finished getting ready some of the women in her life surrounded her and prayed for her, Nathaniel, and their marriage.
Time to head over to the boys and make sure all was well with them. From getting ready to eating donuts to prayer with some of the men in his life, Nathaniel seemed ready and free from any nervousness.
Both Sarah and Nathaniel wanted to save their "First Look" for the ceremony aisle, but they did want to exchange gifts, a few words, and a prayer together before the wedding started. They decided to do a "first look" but utilized a door to ensure Nathaniel wouldn't be able to see Sarah before she entered the aisle of the ceremony.
It's wedding time. Guests were being seated, the Groom was ready, officiant was getting into place. Time to start the ceremony.
Now to get the party started! Announcement of the couple and the start of dinner.
Sarah and Nathaniel had a salad bar for their dinner and it was amazing. Different meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and dressings adorned the table for guests to create the salad of their dreams. The couple chose to have macaroons instead of the traditional cake.
When the couple finished dinner and while their guests continued to eat we snuck away quickly to sign the marriage certificate. (The actual document was done earlier, but the one they would frame they wanted photographs of)
Mingling while guests finish their dinner.
Toasts and dancing to commence after the dinner hour. This crowd had an amazing time!
The traditional first dances: Sarah and Nathaniel and then Sarah with her father and Nathaniel with his mother.
Portraits with the individuals who caught the garter and bouquet!
Open dancing for everyone!
Portraits of the bride and groom as well as the bridal party.
The end of the night send off was fantastic. Rose petals thrown on their way out to the car.
And, they lived happily ever after....
